Selenite is a crystal that forms naturally from the mineral gypsum. 
It’s created in sedimentary environments, such as dried-up lakes and clay beds, where water evaporation leaves behind layers of gypsum. 
Over time, these layers crystallize under the right conditions, giving us selenite’s signature translucent, glowing appearance. Its name is inspired by Selene, the ancient Greek goddess of the moon, reflecting its soft, moonlit glow.
